Another Year Dies

Hello, Reader!

Another year's dying on the vine. It's been hectic but good.

I have VERY BIG NEWS coming your way from Stranger Fiction, but it's not coming yet. Let me forewarn you that SF will be VERY ACTIVE in 2026. You'll hear from me much more.

Just a quick summary of a few highlights in the last while:

Our movie had a private screening and got a great reaction.

I'm speaking, of course, of THE PRINCESS AND THE DRAGON. Directed by Miles Crossman and co-created with many other fine folk.

We have a distribution deal. I can't say more about it than that. I can't tell you when YOU will be able to watch it. But watch it you shall. One day.

We also received a good review in RUE MORGUE!

Del Toro's FRANKENSTEIN was on the cover, but we were inside. This was a dream come true for me, to be name-dropped as a talent to watch in RUE MORGUE.

YouTube is getting cooler. Check out StrangerTV.com and subscribe.

I want to monetize YouTube. There are a lot of reasons for that, but the main reason of course is because then YouTube's algorithm will prioritize showing the channel's videos. It's just a means to that end.

I'm going to be doing a lot more with YouTube in 2026. I'm putting the podcast there now. It's on a break but you can check episodes you missed. Plus in the new year I'll be doing a new show on YouTube called RECOMMENDED ARTISTIC CONSUMPTION, a variation of an old newsletter feature people used to love.

Do I think I'm going to make a bunch of money on YouTube? No. Am I looking to become a YouTube influencer? No.

So why do it? The reason is simple. YouTube shows me stats. It's that simple. When I do other things, I have no idea if you care. I have no idea if you even see it. I have no idea if you clicked the link.

YouTube shows me all that stuff. In theory, they will also pay money in a future world, but I don't think I'm in a niche where that's going to ever be significant. If I wanted to make content about teaching your cat to use the toilet, like Charles Mingus did, then maybe I could make my millions on YouTube. But I don't.

However, I don't want to waste time doing useless nonsense online. It's that simple. I want to be able to see what matters and what doesn't. I'm not playing Zuckerberg's game, or Musk's game.

I don't really want to play Google's game either ,but it's the fairest game in town right now. Anyway, as the kids say, "please like and subscribe!" This is the simplest and cheapest thing you can do to support me and the many Stranger Fiction authors.

Look, I'm not joking, there is BIG NEWS coming to you next year.
